How To Become A Member of HBC

We are excited about the Lord blessing our church family with new members and ask that you take the time to learn about us as you prayerfully consider joining our Heritage Baptist Church family. We welcome those who desire to unite with HBC to pursue doing so by working through the following three steps toward membership:

Begin by watching the messages below to learn about Hertiage's view of the church and what it means to be a member at HBC along with the basics of our faith and practice

  • Watch them at your convenience
  • Make note of any questions you may have to discuss with us

Read our Statements of Faith & Constitution

  • 2000 Baptist Faith & Message
  • To be a member of HBC we require you to be able to affirm this Statement of Faith
  • HBC Statement of Faith
  • To be an Elder or to lead a teaching ministry of HBC we require you to be able to affirm the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message and commit to not teach contrary to our HBC Statement of Faith
  • Read our Constitution
  • Make note of any questions or areas of difference you may have with these Statements of Faith & Constitution to discuss with us

Reach Out To Share Your Desire To Unite With Heritage

  • After working through the steps above, reach out to Pastor Chris by email or phone to share your desire to meet concerning your desire to become a member of HBC
  • chris@hbcgravette.org
  • He will schedule a time for one of our Pastors/Elders to meet with you to talk about matters like:
  • Discuss any questions you may have about HBC
  • Ask you to share with us a brief summary of the gospel
  • Ask you to share your testimony of coming to faith in Christ and your baptism
  • Ask about your current church membership and why you are leaving that church
  • Discuss your desire to unite with HBC
  • Once a Pastor/Elder has met with you, we will share our interaction at our next Elder's Meeting and they will make a decision regarding their recommendation, concerning your desire for membership, to the church body at the following Congregational meeting
